Welcome to Strive for Maturity’s first blogging series! This series will be dealing with seven lies that we hear on a daily basis from the world.

A great list brother – keep working it for the Lord!
I have read Tender Warrior I don’t know how many times and I still am not sure I am man in God’s eyes.
Being a man in this world is a tough one for sure!
Thanks for the comment Matthew!
I know what you mean about it being tough. Like Larry quoted in his post last week “Despite their ‘in control’ exterior, men often feel like impostors and are insecure that their inadequacies will be discovered.”
I haven’t read Tender Warrior yet. I’ll have to check it out.
One of the things I hear a lot is “My faith is private.” um, no it’s not.
Uh, why don’t you just be blunt about it Herb
I can think of at least one scripture why it is not private:
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Great series David!
Here’s one that I thought of: I can love God without loving His church.
Great one Kevin!
This comes to mind,
“Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.” 1 John 4:20-21 (NIV)
I’m looking forward to hearing about each of these topics! Very awesome list.!!!
Thanks Duane. Prayers are appreciated that I don’t disappoint.
I’ve never heard one of those beliefs on that list. I dont think even ONE of those is even close to a true christian belief.
1,4,5 are especially moronic, who would ever believe those?
Thanks for your compliment and being brave enough to give your name
Seriously though my hope is to help Christians who may fall for these from time to time.
#5 probably happens more often than a man would like to admit.
Thanks for the comment
Yeah, sounds like a great series. Looking forward to it. There are so many lies we have to combat with the truth. Thanks David.
Glad you are looking forward to it Jason.
This is going to be a good series, David. Good stuff.
Thanks Tony! I sure do need the encouragement.
#6 is ironic to me. It is hubris to think any organization can remain perfect if I join it. If I thought any group was perfect, I’d have to stay away from it so it could remain so…
Thanks for the comment Helen.
Now I can’t use that analogy in that post
Seriously though I agree with you 100%!
Thanks
Fantastic list! Inspired me to write a similar post:

Thanks for the compliment and I am glad I could inspire you!
Just found your blog. Very meaty stuff ya got here!
I am looking forward to your elaborating on this list.

Thanks for the comment Donald.
Just came across this site and thought that this would be helpful to get me back on track in my walk with Christ!
