Jesus Loves Strippers

Jesus Loves Strippers

New Beginnings Ministries pastor Bill Dunfee along with members of his congregation have had a protest against the Foxhole strip club in Warsaw, Ohio.  What I call a protest they call a ministry.  But for a ministry to be a ministry there has to be a foundation of genuine caring for another human being and since there are bullhorns involved I doubt that is happening.

The church members have been accused of calling the women whores.  I wonder if the people from this church yell all their sins to themselves in the mirror.  My point is that members from New Beginnings have no biblical right to go to the strip club and yell at these woman.

Strippers Made In God’s Image

I want to make something perfectly clear, Jesus loves strippers.  Why does He love strippers?  Because people who work as strippers are created in His image.  He loves all of His creation.  Jesus wants people to respect other people, so I am sure what is happening at strip clubs sadden Him.

I am sure that Jesus is saddened with the choices the woman are making.  He is saddened with those who profiting from the porn industry.  And I have to imagine that He is saddened at the way these Christians are responding to these ladies.

What Should Christians Do For Strippers?

Love… isn’t that what we are supposed to be known for? (John 13:34-35).  Jesus didn’t yell at the woman caught in adultery.  What did He do?  He told the accusers this, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” (John 8:7 TNIV)  Everyone tossed their rocks to the side and walked away.

We shouldn’t try and make everything in this world so black and white because there is a lot of gray.  I can’t imagine that women who decide to become a stripper really enjoy their job.  Even if they do, they are going to come to the realization that one day they are going to wake up with wrinkles.  Their job won’t last forever.

We as Christians need to love them for who they are.  Who are they?  They are somebodies daughter, sister or mother.  Do you have a daughter?  Would you want some stranger with a bullhorn yelling at her?  I doubt it.

I have to be honest, I really don’t know of how to reach out to strippers.  Actually I am not sure any man is called to this.  All I know is that we need our godly woman to reach out to these woman in some normal way.

What we don’t need are Christians doing things not motivated by love.

Love, godly love, should be our only motivation when doing God’s ministry.

Amen. This is spot on. We definitely need more Christians reacting out of love and not hate and fear.

I agree with your sentiment. Repentance and salvation is supernatural. What if caring people asked th strippers for their names and they were prayed for on a daily basis. Perhaps then they would see the divine love of God..Now all they see is a 'church' of namecallers, not the real Jesus who forgave the sisn of many!

      Thanks for the comment!

I agree, the real Jesus is not being displayed to this ladies.

Don't always believe what you see in the media. You say there are bullhorns, do you know that as a fact or is that from reading other blogs and other media? Again, you state that the church members are accused of name calling…what happened to innocent until proven guilty or does that not apply to "Christians" who proclaim the gospel? Don't get me wrong – I don't agree with the"tactics" that's been written about, but can you really trust the media? How can so many Christians call this group out and tell them not to "judge" these girls? Isn't that judging the Pastor and Members of this Church?

The real question should be would you want perveted men looking and salivating over your daughter, wife, sister while she danced/took off her clothes?

One last thing, I've been reading alot concerning this topic and many people, like this article, refer to the women who was caught up in adultry one thing that many forget is that after 'let he that is without sin cast the first stone' and 'neither do I condemn thee' is GO AND SIN NO MORE.

When writing on a blog or a term paper or a book one has to depend on sources because none of us can be at all places all the time. Of course I depended on multiply media sources.

I am a Christian pointing out that his tactics for evangelism to these women who have stripper professions was not good. Christians do not evangelize when protesting.

The woman caught up in adultery was told by Jesus to go and sin no more. I am not Jesus. I have the privilege to stand behind a pulpit and preach a sermon that can encourage people to sin no more but I have no right to go to somebodies place of employment and tell them this.

About the real question, I already answered said that in my post.

If you would like to read a better way of evangelizing these woman please see how it was done: http://xxxchurch.com/getinvolved/index/blog/strip…

Now these woman say they are going to continue doing there job and the church members say they are going to continue to protest. But the only time these women experienced the love of Jesus is when other women, who had been strippers but are now Christians, went and shared Jesus with them in a non-confrontational way. http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/s…

Of course this is all speculation in your eyes because I got this information from other sources. Of course one of my other sources is the Bible which is older than any of the news sources I read.

Question: Are you member of this church from Warsaw, Ohio? I ask because you seem to take this personally and your IP address is from Ohio.

This is a very good article! All too often the "love" part is left out. Is that a clanging cymbal I hear? Maybe that board sticking out of their eye is getting in the way… This is the same kind of issue as with the "pastor" in Gainesville, FL wanting to burn the Quran. I wrote an article about that situation on my blog and backed myself up with historical and scripture references. Feel free to check it out and leave comments.

Thanks for the compliment on the article.

All I hear in Ohio and Florida is a clanging symbol for sure.
