Rate Your Prayer Life
This may seem a little superficial but I was wondering, how you would rate your prayer life? Hey, if George Barna can do it so can I. I know mine is not where I want it to be. Mine is probably a 4. So how about you? On a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being highest) where would you rate your prayer life?

I'd put mine at about a 7 right now. Rewind about 2 months ago and I was at a 2 and I was lucky to pray over a meal consistently. Thank God for working in me and transforming my heart recently on a trip to Israel.
I also have struggled with praying over meals. I think it may have something with not being in want of food and that probably has something with being an American (not to say there aren't starving people in the US).
I think it helps to remember that God is the provider. I may think I am strong but it is God who gives me the strength to earn the money that buys the food.
Are you from America? Why did you go to Israel? Would be interesting in hearing more. Have written on it?
Hi David, yes I agree. Since I've never wanted for food, its easy to take it for granted. However, I try to keep a thankful heart and at least always acknowledge God as the provider for every meal, even if its not some long elaborate prayer.
Yes, I'm from the US. I live in South Florida. I went to Israel on a tour with my church for 2 weeks. I wrote a few blogs about it on my site. Feel free to check it out: http://www.tonyjalicea.com.
Thanks for sharing.
Oh my…. 4 days ago, I was at a 2.. Basically only praying when I thought it would benefit me. Now, I can't quit. I call on Him all day long. Something about God bringing us down to a level until we realize how much we need Him. Ya, that happened to me.
I know what you mean Duane.
I think it can be difficult for us men to be vulnerable in front of anybody, even God.
There is a sweetness in the neediness.
To Tony and Duane – I like that you both have mentioned where you have been. This really true. Some days I feel like I am at an 8 and other days I don't even budge up to a 2.
We will have good prayer days and bad prayer days. I think God wants us where we are at. In other words, He wants us to pray out of love and not out of obligation. Though I wonder what would happen if we prayed out of obligation, could it grow into love. Maybe that is for another post.
