Paul and Lindsay Spend Time in Prison

Two weeks ago Lindsey Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail.  I believe the reason being that she broke her parole.  Regardless of what the reason was, she still was supposed to serve time.

Lindsay wasn’t expected to serve all of her time because… well I am not really sure why.  I can only assume that it is because she is a celebrity.  How much time did she serve?  Two weeks.  Now she is headed to rehab, which I truly hope helps her.

Saint Paul in Prison

The Apostle Paul was some what of a celebrity back in his day.  He was known for wiping Christians off the face of the earth.  He was quite good at his job, that is until Jesus asked him what in the world he was doing.

From that moment on Paul served Jesus.  He risked his life via ship wrecks, beatings and lashings.  Paul also spent time in Jail.  I really can’t imagine how difficult it was for him because I have never spent time in the pokey.

Paul was  mature about his situation.  He didn’t try to whine his way out of prison.  I don’t think it would have helped much because I am certain that Rome was a little harder on their prisoners than California.

Read the Prison Epistles of Paul and see that while he was in chains he was still seeking to do God’s will.  Be encouraged from this.  I believe that for most of us this life is easier than Paul’s.  Since this is the case, we can be encouraged to keep doing God’s will despite the bumps in the road that we come across.
